Projects

Construction & Closures:

Sunset Park Parking Lot:
  • July 17, 2018: Sunset Park parking lot will be closed for maintenance all day Tuesday, July 17. Contractors will be applying a seal to the asphalt that will make the surface almost maintenance free. The process will take no more than one day to complete.  This is a pilot project and will be potentially be used for other areas throughout the City.
Lakeside Greens Construction:
  • July 3, 2018: Work will start on Tuesday July 3rd  with saw-cutting concrete which will take 2 days.  Removals, gravel and concrete replacement will start immediately thereafter and residents should look for notifications at their front door informing them when their driveways will start being inaccessible.  We are doing our best to stage the work to limit these periods of inaccessibility.  Residents are asked to not use their driveways until all formwork and barricades have been completely removed.

Total anticipated timeframe for concrete work is 3 weeks, weather dependent. For more information, contact roads@chestermere.ca or call (403) 207-2807.

Off-Leash area
  • April 12, 2018: The retaining wall/beach rehabilitation is now complete. Construction fencing has been removed. The area is now open to the public until frost has thawed and work will commence.  Residents may contact the Parks and Recreation Manager at (403) 207-7053 with any questions or concerns.

Cove Park
  • May 16, 2018 - After a long winter, construction has started again on the Park.  During this time the Park will remain closed. More information about this project available on the webpage.

Final landscaping and completion of the driveway will begin today (October 24) and will take several weeks. The Rainbow Road sidewalk and the pathway through the park will be closed near the Park. There will be no on-site parking available for the Park, Skateboard Park and ReidBuilt Centre for Community Leadership for the duration of the driveway paving. The Skateboard Park will remain open during construction, but we ask users to use extra caution as equipment will be in the area.
