Christmas with Dignity

The Christmas with Dignity (CWD) fund helps local individuals and families to meet their basic needs all year long. Although ‘Christmas’ is in the name and the majority of the funds are used during the holiday season, donations can be accessed at any time throughout the year when families in the community need assistance.

How You Can Help this holiday season

  • Donate Items for the Kids' Holiday Store:

Donate new or gently used items that kids can purchase at the Kids' Holiday Store. Drop off items in the bins at City Hall or Chestermere Public Library from November 12, 2018 to December 13, 2018.
  • Sponsor a Shopper:

We reserve a few spots each year for children whose families will be accessing the Christmas Hamper program. Every $5 donated to sponsor a shopper will help waive those costs for these families.
  • Cash Donations:

Cash, cheque, or credit card donations are accepted at City Hall (105 Marina Road, Chestermere). Cheques can be written out to City of Chestermere, memo Christmas with Dignity. $20 donations and more will be eligible for a tax receipt. More info. Please click this link to start filling out your information.

2017 Fundraiser Community Update

What an incredible day December 16, 2017 was for the community! We had a record high attendance this year with 500 guests enjoying the local performances, creating a craft in the library, seeking out items for the scavenger hunt, visiting and taking photos with Santa during story time, bidding over hot items at the silent auction, enjoying a sweet treat from Tim Hortons at the Cafe, and shopping through the Kids' Holiday Store.

Thank you to everyone who helped the program this year. We couldn't have wished for a more successful turnout to support local individuals and families with their Christmas, and to get us started off on the right foot with our subsidized programming in the new year.
