Chestermere offers support for the people of Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo

The City of Chestermere would like to express their support for the residents, emergency crews and staff in Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo as they battle one of the most devastating fires in Alberta’s history. Chestermere has offered to support the community with assistance from Chestermere firefighters and emergency social services staff should they need additional help.

If residents wish to assist, the best thing that can be done is to provide donations to established, reputable agencies such as the Red Cross. Please provide donations through their websites directly to ensure funds go to the correct agency.

For the most up to date information from the situation, please see Wood Buffalo’s Twitter Feed here: https://twitter.com/RMWoodBuffalo
