Election Candidates Announced: Choose your City’s decision makers

This fall, Chestermere residents will elect a new Council to lead Alberta’s newest City for the next four years. As no incumbent members of Council have registered, residents will choose their new Mayor and City Council from 20 new candidates.


Candidates nominated for Mayor:

Candidates nominated for Councillor:

· Bold, Laurie

· Burness, Cathy

· Gill, Mo

· Kardash, Anna

· Kersch, Allan

· Narayan, Ritesh

· Schell, Laurianne

· Taylor, Amy

· Thompson, Clayton James

· Wagner, Yvette

Candidate contact information and short summaries of each candidate’s platform can be found on the City’s election website.

Voters may cast their ballot on Saturday October 7, Saturday October 14 or Monday October 16. Polls will be open each day from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chestermere Recreation Centre’s Main Hall. Voters who are not able to vote in person may to apply to vote by special ballot by contacting the Returning Officer at (587) 830-2842 or rtofficer@chestermere.ca.

To be eligible to vote, you must be over 18 years old, be a Canadian citizen, have lived in Alberta for 6 months prior to Election Day, and live in Chestermere on Election Day. All voters will be required to show identification and sign a form swearing they are eligible to vote.
