Local Chestermere couple’s business booms cleaning hazardous dwellings to make them livable again.

Jeanette and Dean May are not your average entrepreneurs. The duo’s Calgary based business Mayken Hazmat Solutions specializes in tackling the dirtiest, nastiest jobs throughout Alberta and western Canada; striving to turn a negative circumstance into a positive.

For over a decade Dean and his team of highly trained professionals have been building their business on spills, biohazards, drug lab remediation, mould removal and asbestos abatement. Not a glamorous job by anyone's standards and in some situations just down-right gross.

The recent rise of Fentanyl production has impacted Mayken Hazmat Solutions exponentially and business is booming. CBC News, Calgary Eyeopener host David Bell, talks to Dean about his role in this deadly drug trend, and how he’s rehabilitating these ultra-hazardous homes and giving them back to the community.
