All Chestermere business licenses expire at the end of the year (December 31) and the deadline to renew is January 31, 2018.
“One of our priorities is to help local business and entrepreneurs in Chestermere succeed,” says Catherine Proulx, Economic Development Manager at the City. “It’s very important to know what businesses are operating in Chestermere so we can better support them and even contact them in the event of a disaster.”
All businesses or persons conducting business within Chestermere’s City limits, including those exempt from paying fees, are required to hold a valid business license.
“Even if your business is no longer active, or if there are changes to your business information such as contact numbers, please let us know,” said Proulx. “This helps us update our online business directory, which is available to all licensed businesses in Chestermere free of charge.”
Business licenses can be renewed by submitting payment to City Hall in person, on the phone or via the City Hall entrance drop box (please do not deposit cash). Fees vary depending on the type of business and can be found online at www.chestermere.ca/businesslicense.
In 2016 the City’s Business License Bylaw (#027-16) was updated to make annual fees more affordable and competitive for Chestermere businesses.
