At the Regular Meeting of Council on May 7, Council...

  • Presented a certificate of achievement (in absentia) to Ben Hebert for his efforts representing Canada at the 2018 Olympics.
  • Presented an award of recognition to Sean Carter, a City employee who placed in the top 11% of participants in the Boston Marathon.
  • Heard a presentation from Rocky View Immigrant Services about their program for newcomer youth in the community.
  • Adopted minutes from previous meetings.
  • Heard from 4 residents during Question Period.
  • Removed one item from the consent agenda and added it to the regular part of the agenda for discussion.
  • Heard the 2017/2018 4th quarter and Year End Report from the Chestermere RCMP.
  • Listened to a verbal report on the 2018/2019 policing priorities.
  • Heard the quarterly report from Chestermere Municipal Enforcement.
  • Listened to the Q1 Report for Winter Maintenance Hours & Service Requests for Roads.
  • Heard a report about the Dirt to Door Developer’s Forum held in February.
  • Heard the 2017 Chestermere Fire Services Year End Report.
  • Awarded the construction tender for Township Road 240/Southlink Contract 3. (There were four motions as part of this approval that pertain to different aspects of the project).
  • Approved an update to the 2018 Capital Budget by carrying forward money from 2017 for several projects.
  • Approved additions and withdrawals regarding 2017-2018 restricted surplus accounts.
  • Approved the 2018 Capital Budget.
  • Approved the amendments to Council’s Social Media Policy.
  • Approved amendments to the Elected Officials Remuneration & Expense Policy.
  • Approved a direct control development permit for home on East Lakeview Road.
  • Passed the 2018 Tax Rate Bylaw.
  • Passed 2nd and 3rd Reading of the Chestermere Utilities Inc. Promissory Note Bylaw.
  • Listened to Council Reports.
  • Accepted a Code of Conduct Complaint Letter of Apology as Information.
  • Heard from 1 resident during the second Question Period.
  • Council went in camera for a personnel matter – RCMP.
