Water Levels

Western Irrigation District controls the level of the water in Chestermere Lake. The starting date for filling the Lake could be as early as April 15th, depending on the progression of the melt of the ice sheet. The WID likes to have Lake Chestermere full by the first week of May. WID maintains the operating level at 1025.50 metres to 1025.60 metres until after the Thanksgiving long weekend at which time it is dropped to the winter level.
