Q: How do I appear before Council?

A: Council Meetings are generally held the first and third Mondays of each month. You are required to contact the Town Office Administrative Department at least two weeks prior to the meeting and submit a written document of the concern that you would like Council to address. The Administrative Department will then provide you with the time of your appearance. You are generally given 15 minutes to make your presentation and answer any questions Council may have.

Q. How do I contact the Mayor?

Q. Grass Clippings, Leaves and Branches Can Go Where?

A: Chestermere residents can bring grass clippings, leaves and branches to the Public Works yard for composting.
The yard is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Statutory holidays it is open from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. (Closed over the lunch hour). The site will not be open on Christmas Day or New Years Day.

Q: What home projects require Building Permits?

A: Our Planning & Development staff is happy to assist you with all your home projects. A brief list of those requiring Development and Building Permits are: Decks, Sheds over 107 sq ft., Additions, Sunrooms, Above-Ground Pools. Some projects that require building permits are Basements, Renovations and In-Ground Pools. This is not a complete list. Sheds under 107 sq. ft. do not require a permit but must follow height restrictions and meet all setback requirements (just call us!). Fences do not require a permit but follow height restrictions. More information available by visiting the link below for our development brochures.
