• 2011 Get On Board With Your Library

The history of the Chestermere Public Library began with the dream of a committed group of community members even before 1993 when the bylaw was passed to form the Chestermere Library Board. This dream became reality on November 27th, 2007 when the Library opened its doors and collections to the people of Chestermere and the County of Rocky View. This project has been a demanding one made successful mainly through the hard work and passion of the many members of the community that supported the vision of having our own library in Chestermere.

Through perseverance, building awareness and fundraising, the library has become a successful reality and a community focal point. Nothing could have prepared us for the excitement of all of the children as they walked through the doors for the first time into their very own Library! Shouts of “It’s so beautiful!“ to the tears we saw in the eyes of the many volunteers that made this day happen.

It’s with thanks to all of you who supported and worked toward this amazing community resource and continue to build its success that this facility has become a reality and you continue to make it grow.

We continue to add programs and try to meet the requests of the community to make this Library a focal point for our community.

We ask for your continued support through your membership and use of the library and its resources. Located in the lower level of town hall, with a beautiful view of the lake, the library is a place to read, use the computers, study, enjoy programs and meet friends.

Starting February 6, the Library will be open:

• Monday: 10:00am – 5:00pm
• Tuesday: 10:00am – 8:00pm
• Wednesday: 10:00am – 8:00pm
• Thursday: 10:00am – 8:00pm
• Friday: 10:00am – 5:00pm
• Saturday: 10:00am – 5:00pm
• Sunday: Closed

The Library is now open Thursday and Saturday mornings!
The hours are Tuesday-Thursday 10AM-8:30 PM
Friday and Saturday 10 AM-5 PM
We are closed Sunday and Monday.

Letter From the Director, July 25, 2011

Hello,
Chestermere Library is about to enter an exciting new phase and bring a range of new services to the residents of our town. Before we start planning, we would like the community to share their thoughts about which areas the library should focus on over the next three years.
The Province has identified a list of 18 key areas that alllibraries should be delivering to their community. We would like you to pick the five service areas which you feel are the most important for our library to deliver to the residents of this town. Your answer will help us to determine which service areas we need to focus on, and will enable us to deliver an exciting program of events that are relevant to Chestermere’s needs.
Please take the time to read through the 18 service areas listed in the attached document, and rank your top five in order of importance. You can email your choices directly to me at or drop a paper copy into the library if you prefer. If you have any suggestions for programsand events that you would like to see at the library, then please feel free toshare them with me.
