East and West Chestermere Drive Upgrade Project
Project Overview
- The purpose of this project is to address current drainage issues along East and West Chestermere Drives and at the same time upgrade portions of these roadways that are failing due to aged, insufficient base structure.
Phasing
- Taking into account the allocated two year project budget, the project has been separated into two phases. The first is East Chestermere Drive with construction projected to begin in July 2011. Phase Two encompasses West Chestermere Drive with construction currently planned for the spring 2012 construction season. While the needs for upgrading both East and West Chestermere Drives are comparable when evaluating the concerns of residents and required drainage upgrades, the decision to phase East Chestermere Drive first is due to the east side’s greater technical and maintenance needs, and the imminent breakdown of the East Chestermere Drive carriageway.

Open House – East Chestermere Drive Upgrade Project
- An open house for the upgrade project will be held at Chestermere Town Hall from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on June 8th, 2011. This event will focus on the design of the first phase, being East Chestermere Drive. A second open house will be held prior to the commencement of Phase Two in early 2012. All are welcome to attend.

Take a Walk Down Main Street – New Development Proposal
- The proposed Professional Building is an eye-catching two-storey building comprised of approximately 53,000 square feet of office and retail space. Keeping in line with the small town atmosphere that residents of Chestermere enjoy, this building will be oriented onto a pedestrian friendly Main Street. This Main Street will be complete with street furnishing and connections to John Peake Park, serving as a focal point for activity in Chestermere Town Centre.
