East and West Chestermere Drive Upgrade Project

Project Overview

  • The purpose of this project is to address current drainage issues along East and West Chestermere Drives and at the same time upgrade portions of these roadways that are failing due to aged, insufficient base structure.

East Chestermere Drive

  • The main construction portion of East Chestermere Drive has been completed. Final landscaping and the final layer of asphalt will be completed in the spring of 2012.

West Chestermere Drive

Construction: April 2012 – September 2012

This spring the Town of Chestermere will begin a construction project to upgrade West Chestermere Drive.

The plan is to address current drainage (flooding) issues along West Chestermere Drive and at the same time upgrade old and failing portions of the road. The project will address drainage within the entire road area including town property that runs alongside the existing roadway

Open House

If you would like more information or would like to see the design, the Town will be hosting a public open house.

Date: Wednesday February 15th, 2012

Time: 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

Location: Town Hall (105 Marina Road, Chestermere, AB)

There will be an opportunity for residents to provide feedback during this time.

In addition, on Wednesday February 22 and Saturday February 25, two smaller group information sessions will be held for residents on or near West Chestermere Drive. There will be several 30 minute long sessions. If you are interested in attending one of the smaller meetings, please contact the Development Services Department (contact information below) prior to 4:00pm on February 24th to book a meeting time.

Take a Walk Down Main Street – New Development Proposal

  • The proposed Professional Building is an eye-catching two-storey building comprised of approximately 53,000 square feet of office and retail space. Keeping in line with the small town atmosphere that residents of Chestermere enjoy, this building will be oriented onto a pedestrian friendly Main Street. This Main Street will be complete with street furnishing and connections to John Peake Park, serving as a focal point for activity in Chestermere Town Centre.
