Natural gas and electricity utilities are provided by a variety of companies in the Chestermere area. Please note that they are not provided by the City directly and that setting up accounts or inquiring about rates must be done through the company, not City Hall.

Franchise Fees
A franchise fee is rent that the City charges utility distributors for having infrastructure (pipes, wires, etc) on City of Chestermere land. The City collects franchise fees from distributors and uses the funds only for the replacement or major repairs of municipal infrastructure. Learn more here.
