Chestermere, Alta. – On May 6, 2021 at 8:15 a.m., Chestermere RCMP received a report of a person found deceased in Chestermere Lake on the South side of the causeway near the East shore. Members of Chestermere RCMP attended immediately with Chestermere Fire Services and EMS to pull the body from the Lake. Life saving efforts were initiated which were unsuccessful. The investigation to follow determined the deceased was a 70 year old Chestermere woman who was last seen at approximately 6:48 a.m. in the 600 block of Marina Drive while on her regular morning walk. The death does not appear suspicious at this time however Chestermere RCMP are seeking the assistance of the public to provide any information, dash cam video, residential surveillance, or sightings in order to establish the elderly woman’s movements between 6:48 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.. The deceased is described as:
- 70 years of age;
- East Indian in ethnicity;
- Brown eyes;
- Clothed in a dark blue hoodie, blue patterned pants, and black shoes.
The investigation is ongoing between Chestermere RCMP and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
