In the past, residents had to search for 1538974 AB Ltd (the numbered company name that tracks utility finances separate from the City) to set up utility payments via their online banking system, but that has been recently changed to CHESTERMERE UTILITIES to make it easier to find as a payee.
If you’d like to set up online banking payments for utilities: search for CHESTERMERE UTILITIES and use the account number on your bill. Please note that some banks require a 10-digit account number and you will need to enter zeros at the front of your account number – not at the end.
If you’ve already set up utility payments: you should be able to keep using the same payee, but it may vary depending on the bank and you may see the name change to CHESTERMERE UTILITIES. If the payee you set up is no longer listed as a payee, please search for CHESTERMERE UTILITIES and use the account number on your bill. Please note that some banks require a 10-digit account number and you will need to enter zeros at the front of your account number – not at the end.
If you have any questions or have trouble setting up CHESTERMERE UTILITIES as a payee, contact the City at 403-207-7070. Please note that it may take a few weeks for every bank to make this change.
Note: The City of Chestermere manages utilities for the community but tracks the financial information separately from regular City accounts using a numbered company 1538974 AB Ltd. The name change for online payees does not change this structure.
