On July 3, 2021 as a result of a shoplifting investigation, Chestermere RCMP seized numerous items believed to have been stolen in and around the Calgary area. The property is believed to have been stolen between June 30, 2021 and July 3, 2021.

On July 3, 2021, Chestermere RCMP arrested 2 Calgary males in relation to the shoplifting incident and allegedly were in possession of a stolen pickup truck with stolen license plates.
Braiden Gordon (28) and Cody Van Dyk (27) both of Calgary were charged with:
- Shoplifting
- Possession of stolen property under $5000
- Possession of stolen property over $5000
Van Dyk has also been charged with failing to comply with a release order (x3). He remains in custody and will next be appearing in Calgary Provincial Court on Sept. 24, 2021.
Gordon has been released on conditions and will be appearing in Strathmore Provincial Court on Oct. 1, 2021.
As these matters are before the courts, no further details will be provided surrounding the incident.
