Chestermere is kicking off the holiday season with a twinkle and a bang at the Winter Lights Festival on Saturday, November 27th, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. The Winter Lights Festival has become a beloved tradition in Chestermere since it began in 2017. Chock-full of fun activities for the community, this event celebrates the start of the winter holiday season.
The event will begin with the illumination of the beautiful and ever-expanding winter lights display at John Peake Park. There will also be a full evening of festive and family-friendly activities such as horse-drawn wagon rides, marshmallow roasting and a hot chocolate station (sponsored by Tim Hortons).
One new addition this year is Storybook Lane, hosted by the Chestermere Public Library. Participants can decorate and hang a tree ornament, pose for family photos and then pick up a cookie decorating kit to enjoy at home.
Ending the evening on a bright note, fire spinner performers will dazzle attendees as they play and dance with fire under the park pavilion, followed by a fantastic firework display over Chestermere Lake.
Please note that capacity limits and masking will be in place for specific activities, including Storybook Lane, The Little Toot Train and the horse-drawn wagons. We encourage everyone to stay within their family units and physically distance themselves from others who do not live in the same household while attending the event.
