While everyone appreciates the value of their home has increased this past year, most do not realize this increase causes a property tax increase.
The City of Chestermere's property assessors indicated the inflation values on existing residential properties values for 2022 have increased on average 5.6%. With that said, the new City Council in Chestermere was able to reduce the residential tax rate by 5.6%, which means most residents won't have to pay extra for the increase in their property value. Another win for residents and the new council alike.
