On Saturday, December 3, Chestermere Mayor Jeff Colvin will host the city’s first Mayor’s Christmas Gala benefitting the Gifts of Kindness program. Everyone is welcome to purchase a ticket and attend the formal event held at City Hall, beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $75, and a large portion of the proceeds go towards Gifts of Kindness, a community and support services program that provides short-term financial support to help meet the basic needs of Chestermere and South East Rocky View residents.
“The Gifts of Kindness program is an essential aid for those in our community who may need a helping hand up,” says Mayor Colvin. “As the holiday season approaches, times may be tough for some.”
“Holding this Gala gives the community a chance to gather and raise some additional funding that can be shared with our most vulnerable before Christmas,” says Colvin.
The Gala kicks off a month-long campaign for the Gifts of Kindness.
With only 80 tickets available, this exclusive event will feature a silent auction, entertainment, a 50/50 draw, hors d'oeuvres and drinks, and an opportunity for attendees to connect with Council.
Tickets can be purchased online at ChestermereToday.com/MayorsGala.

About the Gifts of Kindness
The City of Chestermere’s Community and Support Services runs the Gifts of Kindness program, formerly known as Christmas with Dignity. In addition to helping people get back on their feet, this support helps prevent long-term social challenges in our community, such as homelessness and malnutrition.
Upon referral, individuals and families experiencing financial hardship are offered strategies and resources that may provide financial relief. This may include referrals to the Chestermere Food Bank and federal and provincial support programs. If eligible, staff can offer basic needs support through a utility bill payment, grocery gift card or transportation assistance.
