With the good weather we are currently experiencing, crews have begun construction work on Township Road 240 earlier than anticipated. Work this spring and summer will include constructing the new road (from base to asphalt) between Rainbow Road and Range Road 282.
The 2019 construction phase also includes upgrading Range Road 282 and completing the bridge over the WID canal. This work will require the closing of RR 282 starting April 12.
Completion of all 2019 construction is anticipated to be complete by September 2019.
Note: As Fortis Alberta has created a new substation in the southeast corner of Chestermere, they also added streetlights along Township Road 240 as it was more cost effective to do so at the time of the substation build than separately once the road was completed.
