August 28 to 30 is Canada United Weekend in Chestermere!

aerial of business

City Council made a recent proclamation designating August 28 to 30 as Canada United Weekend in Chestermere!

Canada United is a national movement that aims to bring Canadians together to support local businesses and kick-start the economy in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

This weekend, our community can demonstrate their support for this initiative by watching the Canada United videos online at GoCanadaUnited.ca, ‘like’ any posts from @GoCanadaUnited and use #CanadaUnited on social media.

For each of these actions, RBC will be contributing 5 cents, up to a maximum contribution amount of $2 million, to the new Canada United Small Business Relief Fund, which will provide small businesses with grants of up to $5,000.

These grants can be used to cover expenses related to personal protective equipment (PPE), renovations to accommodate re-opening guidelines, and developing or improving e-commerce capabilities.

Don’t forget to shop and dine local to celebrate and support local businesses. Show your support this weekend from Aug. 28 – 30!
