The City of Chestermere is pleased to announce that it has been chosen as a recipient of the 2020 Canadian Nursery Landscape Association’s Green for Life - Community National Awards of Landscape Excellence.
The award was given to Cornerstone Park, a multi-use space at the western entrance to the community. The park is home to Chestermere’s skateboard park and the Centre for Community Leadership.
“We are thrilled to be the recipients of such a prestigious award,” says Mayor Marshall Chalmers. “The landscaping of this park is a testament to the generous spirit of many residents, organizations and businesses in our community.”
On Wednesday, September 16, Kyla Hardon from Landscape Alberta presented the award to Mayor Chalmers and representatives from organizations who had contributed to the park.
The City would like to acknowledge and thank the following individuals and organizations for their efforts in creating this unique space:
- Phil Paxton of Alpha Better Landscaping
- Blaire Cote of Foothills Nursery
- Landscape Alberta
- Synergy Youth Development Staff & Board of Directors
- City of Chestermere Community Operations Staff
