After hearing overwhelming concerns from residents and conducting a thorough review of the company, City Council decided that the status quo was no longer desirable and explored alternative options for the future of Chestermere Utilities Inc. On June 28, 2019, Council decided to take back control of utility services. By bringing services back under the municipality, they were able to cut utility rates by 8% this past July.

If you pay by auto-withdrawals, telephone banking, online banking or through a mortgage company, you will not need to make any changes. Please continue to use the same payee.

No. It will cost a large amount of money for the City to change the logos on all residential bins. To keep costs and rates down, we will not be changing the logos at this time.
Yes you can still use it for curbside collection notifications and for the ‘Sorting Central’ feature to find out what goes where.
During the next update, the logo will change to show the City’s icon.

The building will be closed and completely cleaned out by the end of September. The City is exploring options for the best use of the space following CUI’s departure.
