Adopt A Family Sponsor Application

  1. Background

Thank you for your interest in being a sponsor for the Gifts of Kindness Adopt a Family program! You are going to be a big part of making sure that no one goes without a gift during the holidays!

Sponsor Expectations: When you adopt a family, the minimum commitment is approximately $100. If you would like to support a family in need with a smaller amount, please find information on our Holiday Packs here.

  2. How it Works

    1. Getting Matched: During the first week of December, you will receive your family match from the Family & Community Resource Centre team.

    2. Selecting Gifts: When you are matched, you will receive a brief profile about your adopted family and a wish list. Toys, clothing, groceries gift cards and household items are some of the most commonly requested items. Gifts for parents are not required, but you may provide them, should you wish. Please do not include cash or alcohol.

    3. Arranging Delivery: We request that you arrange a delivery date and time with your adopted family as soon as you receive their contact information. Please note that delieveries should be contact-less and should follow COVID-19 door-to-door safe practices (found here). Deliveries should be completed no later than Thursday, December 18th, 2020.

  3. This is needed to send you a tax receipt, if required.

  4. Adoptee Preference

Please indicate the type of family you'd like to adopt. Please note that larger families will typically require a larger financial commitment to meet their requests. As a general guideline, providing gifts to each member of an adopted family typically requires a minimum of $50 each.
